RNCS/RNCH - Moisture Resistant Precision Thin Film Chip Resistor

For applications that require electrical performance with tolerances of less than 0.5% and TCR below 50 ppm or better, thin-film chip resistors using nichrome alloys are often chosen. These resistor types currently have a lot of utility in the market. However, if the final product is exposed to high humidity, the nichrome resistor may be corroded due to moisture, resulting in an increase in resistance value and eventual complete disconnection. Stackpole's RNCS series utilizes proprietary materials and processes to improve the moisture resistance of the product. The RNCS has an offset of less than 0.05% under the Mil-STD-202 bias humidity test, which is widely considered to be the most stringent bias humidity test for resistors at 85ºC. SEI's RNCS after 3,000 hours of operation at 85% R.H. at 10% rated powerThe series resistance offset can also be less than 0.1%.
