RTAN -Tantalum Nitride Thin Film Chip Resistor |
The choice of resistors for applications that require both environmental stability and high precision is limited. Thin-film resistors based on nichrome alloys have excellent electrical properties and stability, but can cause oxidative corrosion problems when exposed to high humidity for long periods of time. Many thick film and thin film chip resistors with internal terminals that use screen printing technology can experience resistance drift and failure due to sulfur corrosion. Stackpole's AEC-Q200 qualified RTAN series features a proprietary terminal material construction and design that provides excellent sulfur resistance in accordance with ASTM-B-809 Tested with very low resistance offset. In addition, due to the self-passivating properties of the tantalum nitride thin film material, the product provides moisture-resistant precision chip resistor performance with excellent long-term reliability.
